📰 Financial News
- Equity/rates: S&P cash (latest 2026-09-09 print) 7,636.36 (-0.48%); ES futures 7,649.00 (+0.07%). The live confirmation gate is first-hour breadth plus 10Y (latest 2026-09-09 print) 4.837% and DXY 98.911.
- Metals: gold $4,420.30 (-0.91%) and silver $66.41 (-3.26%). Tie any breakout/fade to real yields, the dollar, inflation/geopolitics, and silver's industrial-growth confirmation.
- Energy: WTI $97.11 (+1.10%). Treat OPEC/inventory/geopolitical headlines as context until WTI/Brent range expansion and next-session acceptance confirm.
- SpaceX/SPCX: SPCX $146.80 (-0.51%) from Nasdaq. Sequential scan found no fresh verified company/regulatory item strong enough to override the stale quote label; use next regular-session trade for confirmation.
- Dividend Leaders (latest 2026-09-09 equity prints): STRC 12.26%, XOM 2.51%, JPM 1.69%, ABBV 2.76%, IBM 2.82%. Screen balances indicated yield, payout durability, liquidity, orderly price action, and macro relevance; selected names remain rate/sector-sensitive, not raw-yield traps.
- Crypto: BTC $77,835 (-1.23% 24h), ETH $2,463 (-0.87%), SOL $100.98 (-2.41%). Repair needs spot demand, ETF/liquidity support, and funding discipline.
- AI/risk: NVDA (latest 2026-09-09 print) $223.67 (-0.91%); if AI lifts while equal-weight breadth lags, call it concentration, not broad risk-on.
- Sequential headline scan buckets: S&P 500, Dow futures attempt recovery ahead of inflation report; A Tiny Shift in the Inflation Rate Could Decide the Fed’s Next Move; TSX futures hover near six-week low before US inflation data. These are catalyst buckets only; price, yields, oil, breadth, and funding decide whether they matter.
📐 Gann Seasonal Dates
No exact active Gann seasonal date today; next future checkpoint: Sep 22-23 cardinal/equinox on 2026-09-22 (12 days away).
Dates checked: cardinal and mid-season checkpoints. No date gets promoted without price confirmation.
🪐 Planetary Aspects
| Timing window | Exact/nearest UTC | Orb | Score | Inspection window |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mercury opposition Neptune | 2026-09-13T11:02:47Z | 3.8° applying | 0.05 | 2026-09-10–2026-09-12 |
Use this as a timing lens and review queue only; price action has the final vote.
- Tight hard-aspect scan: Mercury opposition Neptune (orb 3.8°, applying)
- Secondary timing links: Neptune sextile Pluto (orb 0.1°, applying); Sun sextile Mars (orb 1.6°, applying); Uranus trine Pluto (orb 2.3°, separating); Mercury opposition Neptune (orb 3.8°, applying). Treat these as inspection windows, not certainty claims.
- Retrograde check: Saturn, Neptune, Pluto. Read retrogrades as review/back-test cycles for existing stories, not automatic reversal calls.
Use aspects as timing lenses, not certainty claims. Price/liquidity decide.
🌙 Moon Phase
New Moon in Virgo (9.0°), about 0.6% illuminated. Event taxonomy: no solar/lunar eclipse is exact today in the computed phase scan.
Pop-astro version: The mood wants clean proof after the headline burst: less story-chasing, more follow-through.
Market version: Use the Moon line as an execution audit: first reactions need VWAP/opening-range/funding confirmation before they become structure.
🧠 Gann Lesson
A lower average entry can hide a larger loss exposure.
In Chapter IX, Gann objects to buying on a downward scale because the trader adds holdings while the first position is losing. His objection concerns exposure, not whether the arithmetic average falls. A lower average entry can be correct arithmetic and still describe a more vulnerable account. Use an explicitly synthetic example. A trader buys 100 shares at $100, then another 100 at $80. The total cost is $18,000 and the average entry is $90. At the second purchase price, the position still has a $2,000 unrealized loss. Buying more did not recover any money. It only changed how many shares participate in the next move. If price then falls to $70, the combined loss is $4,000. Without the second purchase, the original holding would lose $3,000. The added lot therefore creates another $1,000 loss on that next decline. A useful worksheet separates average entry, current loss, and loss per further dollar of decline. This makes the temptation clear: the break-even price moves closer while the account becomes more sensitive to an adverse move.
Try it
Synthetic case: 100 shares at $100 plus 100 at $80. What are average cost, loss at $80, and loss per additional $1 decline?
Answer
Average cost is $90; loss at $80 is $2,000; each additional $1 decline costs $200, versus $100 before the addition.
Limits
This is position arithmetic, not proof that every planned staged investment fails. It excludes fees and taxes and does not recommend a trade.
🔮 Astrology Lesson
Elongation and phase angle sit at different corners of the triangle.
Calculated astronomy: Sun, observer, and target form a viewing triangle. Horizons quantity 23 measures Sun-Observer-Target elongation, with its vertex at the observer. Quantity 24 measures Sun-Target-Observer, with its vertex at the target, and closely approximates the true phase angle. Equal-looking angle labels do not make these the same measurement. Use the middle letter as a reading rule. S-O-T describes how far the target appears from the Sun in the observer's sky. S-T-O describes the illumination geometry at the target. JPL notes that quantity 24 differs slightly from the separately available true phase angle because of its apparent-direction treatment. For an ideal spherical target, elementary geometry gives illuminated disk fraction k = (1 + cos(alpha))/2, where alpha is phase angle. A hypothetical alpha of 120 degrees gives k = 0.25. Do not insert the observer's elongation into that formula merely because both angles are in degrees. In a data table, retain separate column names and request the angle the calculation actually requires. The lesson is a triangle-vertex check, not a relabeling of a zodiac aspect or a waxing-versus-waning cycle.
Try it
For the ideal sphere, calculate the illuminated fraction at phase angle 120 degrees. Which Horizons angle is the close phase-angle approximation: S-O-T or S-T-O?
Answer
(1 + cos(120 degrees))/2 = 0.25, or 25%. S-T-O is the close phase-angle approximation because its vertex is at the target; S-O-T is observer elongation.
Limits
The sphere formula is an ideal geometric model. For precise results use the appropriate JPL phase quantity and shape assumptions. Neither angle provides a demonstrated market forecast.
