🌙 Moon Phase
Waxing Crescent Moon in Scorpio (27.2°), about 27.7% illuminated. Event taxonomy: no solar/lunar eclipse is exact today in the computed phase scan.
Pop-astro version: The mood wants clean proof after the headline burst: less story-chasing, more follow-through.
Market version: Use the Moon line as an execution audit: first reactions need VWAP/opening-range/funding confirmation before they become structure.
🧠 Gann Lesson
Distribution does not require a flat top.
gann-tape-reading-foundations: Part 3 of 3
Gann distinguishes early leaders that hold near a high from late movers that rush up and form sharp tops. He then asks where distribution happens in the sharp-top case and answers that stock can be sold on the way up and again on the way down. In his account, a pause well below the peak can still be part of distribution rather than a bargain. The lesson is about competing explanations, not permission to call every decline insider selling. A flat ceiling is only one of the shapes he allows. If you require that shape before you consider distribution, you have quietly narrowed the author's claim. If you label every failed rebound as distribution, you have made the claim impossible to disprove. Keep two columns. In the first, write the observed price sequence: rise, peak, fall, pause. In the second, write the inferred transfer of holdings. Keep the distinction visible, especially when participant or inventory data are absent, because the second column is always an interpretation of the first.
Try it
A fictional stock rises from 40 to 60, falls to 50, and pauses between 49 and 51. There is no ownership data. Does the lack of a flat top rule out Gann's distribution account? Does the fall prove it?
Answer
No to both. The source allows distribution on the ascent and the descent, so a flat top is not required. But the price path alone does not establish who sold, why they sold, or whether a further decline follows.
Limits
Distribution here is Gann's interpretation, not observed ownership transfer. His point distances are historical descriptions, not portable thresholds. No trade, participant identity, or future direction is inferred from the exercise.

🔮 Astrology Lesson
The classical aspects were an argument about ratios.
astro-ptolemy-reading-toolkit: Part 3 of 3
The classical aspect list can look like an arbitrary selection of angles. In Tetrabiblos I.13 Ptolemy tries to explain why these intervals deserve attention, and his argument is about ratios. Opposition begins with a straight line of 180 degrees. Half of that gives 90, the square. One third gives 60, the sextile, and two thirds gives 120, the trine. The neighboring intervals also form the ratios 90 to 60, which is 3 to 2, and 120 to 90, which is 4 to 3, proportions he associates with music. These are simple arithmetic relationships. The move from arithmetic to astrological significance is Ptolemy's philosophical argument, not a modern experiment. Read the chapter heading closely: it concerns the aspects of the signs. He describes opposition as six signs apart, trine as four, square as three, and sextile as two. That makes I.13 a good place to separate a relation between sign sectors from the measured angle between two planets. A planet at 1 degree Aries and one at 29 degrees Leo occupy trine-related signs, but their longitudes are 1 and 149 degrees, a separation of 148, not an exact trine. Draw the geometry before you use the vocabulary.
Try it
Draw a circle and mark 0, 60, 90, 120, and 180 degrees. Write the fraction of 180 beside each mark and the ratios of adjacent marks. Shade the Aries and Leo sectors, place points at 1 degree Aries and 29 degrees Leo, and explain why they are not exactly 120 degrees apart.
Answer
The points have absolute longitudes 1 and 149 degrees, a separation of 148 degrees. Sign-level trine affiliation cannot replace that number.
Limits
This explains one author, not the whole origin history of aspects. The musical analogy is not evidence of a force acting on prices. Ptolemy discusses planetary relations elsewhere, so the sign focus here does not prove he rejected degree-based technique.
