|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mars opposition Pluto | 2026-09-30T11:05:00Z | 3.54° applying | 0.115 | 2026-09-27–2026-09-29 |
Use this as a timing lens and review queue only; price action has the final vote.
- Tight hard-aspect scan: Sun opposition Neptune (orb 1.4°, separating); Moon conjunction Saturn (orb 2.2°, separating); Mars opposition Pluto (orb 3.5°, applying)
- Secondary timing links: Neptune sextile Pluto (orb 0.2°, separating); Sun trine Uranus (orb 1.2°, applying); Sun trine Pluto (orb 1.2°, separating); Sun opposition Neptune (orb 1.4°, separating); Moon conjunction Saturn (orb 2.2°, separating); Uranus trine Pluto (orb 2.4°, applying). Treat these as inspection windows, not certainty claims.
- Retrograde check: Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. Read retrogrades as review/back-test cycles for existing stories, not automatic reversal calls.
Use aspects as timing lenses, not certainty claims. Price/liquidity decide.
🌙 Moon Phase
Full Moon in Aries (14.0°), about 99.3% illuminated. Event taxonomy: no solar/lunar eclipse is exact today in the computed phase scan.
Pop-astro version: The mood wants clean proof after the headline burst: less story-chasing, more follow-through.
Market version: Use the Moon line as an execution audit: first reactions need VWAP/opening-range/funding confirmation before they become structure.
🧠 Gann Lesson
A tapered pyramid still adds exposure.
Gann's pyramiding example in Chapter IX reduces the size of successive additions as price advances. He starts with a larger lot and adds smaller lots higher up. The mechanism is the distribution of entry prices: fewer shares are bought at the newest, highest price. That is different from doubling a position after every favorable move. Consider an explicitly synthetic comparison. Both plans begin with 100 shares at $50. A tapered plan adds 50 at $60 and 25 at $70. Its 175 shares cost $9,750, for an average entry of about $55.71. An equal-lot plan adds 100 shares at each of those prices. Its 300 shares cost $18,000, averaging $60. At $65, the tapered plan has a $1,625 unrealized gain and the equal-lot plan has $1,500. Those figures describe this chosen path, not a universal ranking. At a much higher price, the larger position benefits more. More importantly, each new dollar of decline now costs the tapered plan $175 rather than its original $100. Tapering limits the size of additions; it does not establish that aggregate risk declines.
Try it
In the synthetic tapered plan, how many shares are held, what did they cost, and what is the unrealized gain at $65?
Answer
175 shares cost $9,750. Their value at $65 is $11,375, leaving a $1,625 unrealized gain before costs.
Limits
Gann also makes safety claims that this arithmetic does not prove. Tapering does not prevent gaps, leverage losses, or losses on the whole position.

🔮 Astrology Lesson
Elongation and phase angle sit at different corners of the triangle.
REPEAT LESSON: originally used 2026-09-10
Calculated astronomy: Sun, observer, and target form a viewing triangle. Horizons quantity 23 measures Sun-Observer-Target elongation, with its vertex at the observer. Quantity 24 measures Sun-Target-Observer, with its vertex at the target, and closely approximates the true phase angle. Equal-looking angle labels do not make these the same measurement. Use the middle letter as a reading rule. S-O-T describes how far the target appears from the Sun in the observer's sky. S-T-O describes the illumination geometry at the target. JPL notes that quantity 24 differs slightly from the separately available true phase angle because of its apparent-direction treatment. For an ideal spherical target, elementary geometry gives illuminated disk fraction k = (1 + cos(alpha))/2, where alpha is phase angle. A hypothetical alpha of 120 degrees gives k = 0.25. Do not insert the observer's elongation into that formula merely because both angles are in degrees. In a data table, retain separate column names and request the angle the calculation actually requires. The lesson is a triangle-vertex check, not a relabeling of a zodiac aspect or a waxing-versus-waning cycle.
Try it
For the ideal sphere, calculate the illuminated fraction at phase angle 120 degrees. Which Horizons angle is the close phase-angle approximation: S-O-T or S-T-O?
Answer
(1 + cos(120 degrees))/2 = 0.25, or 25%. S-T-O is the close phase-angle approximation because its vertex is at the target; S-O-T is observer elongation.
Limits
The sphere formula is an ideal geometric model. For precise results use the appropriate JPL phase quantity and shape assumptions. Neither angle provides a demonstrated market forecast.
