🌙 Moon Phase
Waning Gibbous Moon in Gemini (10.5°), about 73.3% illuminated. Event taxonomy: no solar/lunar eclipse is exact today in the computed phase scan.
Pop-astro version: The mood wants clean proof after the headline burst: less story-chasing, more follow-through.
Market version: Use the Moon line as an execution audit: first reactions need VWAP/opening-range/funding confirmation before they become structure.
🧠 Gann Lesson
Credit quality and resale price answer different questions.
REPEAT LESSON: originally used 2026-09-12
In the Liberty Bonds section, Gann asks why securities of an issuer he regards as sound could fall in price. His explanation centers on holders who needed cash and sold their bonds during a depression. The mechanism separates confidence in promised payments from the price obtainable when an owner must sell now. Use an explicitly synthetic bond to isolate the distinction. A holder pays $100 for a claim with $100 principal due at maturity. Before maturity, the available resale price falls to $92. If the holder sells then, the principal-price loss is $8, regardless of whether the issuer ultimately pays the promised $100 to the new owner. A promise about maturity is not a promise about every intermediate market quote. Keep issuer payment risk, market-price risk, and the holder's cash deadline in separate columns. A need for cash can force the second risk to matter long before the first question is resolved. Gann's historical explanation is a reminder to examine the sellers' circumstances, not proof that every bond decline comes from forced sales. This approach also prevents the word safe from silently switching between credit safety and price stability.
Try it
Synthetic bond: purchase price $100, current resale bid $92, promised maturity principal $100. Does the $8 price decline alone prove issuer default? What principal-price loss results from selling now?
Answer
No. A lower resale quote does not alone prove default. Selling at $92 realizes an $8 principal-price loss, excluding coupons and costs.
Limits
Gann’s account is one historical explanation, not a complete bond-pricing model. Interest rates, credit expectations, maturity, coupons, and liquidity can all matter; repayment itself is not assumed certain.

🔮 Astrology Lesson
A missing aspect is not Ptolemy's whole disjunction test.
REPEAT LESSON: originally used 2026-09-13
Historical astrological doctrine: Ptolemy defines disjunct signs by several missing relationships, not by one empty aspect line. In Book I.16, he first excludes the familiarities called commanding and obeying, beholding, and equal power. He then adds the absence of opposition, trine, quartile, and sextile. The order matters when reading the text. A modern summary that says only "no major aspect" drops part of his definition. Build a classification sheet with separate columns for the relationships named in the passage. A pair cannot be certified as disjunct from a blank major-aspect column alone. The other familiarity columns must also be checked. This is a logical reading exercise, not a search for another small angle. For example, suppose a source worksheet reports no listed major aspect but does report a beholding relationship. Under the complete verbal definition, that worksheet does not establish disjunction. Conversely, a row that records none of the named familiarities satisfies the exclusion test. This teaches how to preserve an author's full conditions before turning a historical category into a chart label.
Try it
A worksheet says "no major aspect; beholding relationship present." Does it satisfy the full definition in I.16? Name the decisive clause.
Answer
No. The beholding relationship violates the requirement that disjunct signs belong neither to the beholding nor equal-power class. A missing major aspect alone is insufficient.
Limits
This is textual classification within historical astrology. It does not validate the doctrine physically, identify a market regime, or predict a return.
