- Metals: gold (latest 2026-10-09 print) $4,216.30 (+1.43%) and silver (latest 2026-10-09 print) $61.05 (+2.73%). Tie any breakout/fade to real yields, the dollar, inflation/geopolitics, and silver's industrial-growth confirmation.
- Energy: WTI (latest 2026-10-09 print) $91.85 (+0.39%). Treat OPEC/inventory/geopolitical headlines as context until WTI/Brent range expansion and next-session acceptance confirm.
- SpaceX/SPCX: SPCX (latest 2026-10-08 print) $162.57 (+1.25%) from Nasdaq. Sequential scan found no fresh verified company/regulatory item strong enough to override the stale quote label; use next regular-session trade for confirmation.
- Dividend Leaders (latest 2026-10-09 equity prints): STRC 12.04%, XOM 2.44%, JPM 1.98%, ABBV 2.50%, IBM 2.98%. Screen balances indicated yield, payout durability, liquidity, orderly price action, and macro relevance; selected names remain rate/sector-sensitive, not raw-yield traps.
- Crypto: BTC $82,932 (+0.19% 24h), ETH $2,499 (+0.22%), SOL $109.31 (-0.20%). Repair needs spot demand, ETF/liquidity support, and funding discipline.
- AI/risk: NVDA (latest 2026-10-09 print) $229.28 (-0.52%); if AI lifts while equal-weight breadth lags, call it concentration, not broad risk-on.
- Sequential headline scan buckets: What to Expect in Markets This Week: Big Bank Reports Fire Up Earnings Season; Inflation, Retail Sales Figures Land; US Interest Rate Forecast: CPI to Test December Fed Hike Bets; US Stock Market This Week - 2026-10-12. These are catalyst buckets only; price, yields, oil, breadth, and funding decide whether they matter.
📐 Gann Seasonal Dates
No exact active Gann seasonal date today; next future checkpoint: Nov 7-8 mid-season on 2026-11-07 (27 days away).
Dates checked: cardinal and mid-season checkpoints. No date gets promoted without price confirmation.
🪐 Planetary Aspects
| Timing window | Exact/nearest UTC | Orb | Score | Inspection window |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No qualifying forward hard aspect/station turn | 2026-10-11T11:05:22Z | N/A | N/A | 2026-10-11–2026-10-25 |
Use this as a timing lens and review queue only; price action has the final vote.
- Tight hard-aspect scan: Venus square Mars (orb 0.5°, separating)
- Secondary timing links: Venus square Mars (orb 0.5°, separating); Neptune sextile Pluto (orb 0.5°, separating); Uranus trine Pluto (orb 2.2°, applying). Treat these as inspection windows, not certainty claims.
- Retrograde check: Venus, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. Read retrogrades as review/back-test cycles for existing stories, not automatic reversal calls.
Use aspects as timing lenses, not certainty claims. Price/liquidity decide.
🌙 Moon Phase
New Moon in Libra (27.7°), about 0.7% illuminated. Event taxonomy: no solar/lunar eclipse is exact today in the computed phase scan.
Pop-astro version: The mood wants clean proof after the headline burst: less story-chasing, more follow-through.
Market version: Use the Moon line as an execution audit: first reactions need VWAP/opening-range/funding confirmation before they become structure.
🧠 Gann Lesson
A winning cycle count still needs an out-of-sample expiration check.
A cycle count that wins the research sample still needs an expiration check. Sullivan, Timmermann, and White report that the historically best technical trading rule did not repeat its superior performance in the later out-of-sample period. For a timing desk, that is the difference between a discovered rule and a rule with a continuing shelf life. Build the check before the next signal. Keep the original start date, bar count, tolerance, cost assumption, and proxy market unchanged. Divide the record into development and holdout periods before looking at the holdout. If the rule's hit rate or return profile falls below the predeclared minimum in the holdout, mark the cycle as expired. Do not rescue it by changing the period or adding a new confirmation filter after the miss. The expiration check is not pessimism. It is inventory control. A retired count can still remain in the research notebook, but it should not drive a live timing claim until a new, separately tested specification earns that status.
Try it
A cycle rule hits 7 of 10 development windows but only 4 of 10 holdout windows. Compute both rates and the holdout-minus-development difference.
Answer
The development rate is 70%. The holdout rate is 40%. Holdout minus development is -30 percentage points, so the rule failed the shelf-life check.
Limits
A ten-window example is too small for a formal significance claim. The source studies technical trading rules, not Gann cycles directly. An expiration check controls reuse; it does not prove future failure.

🔮 Astrology Lesson
An eclipse path is a location filter, not a universal market alarm.
NASA distinguishes a total solar eclipse's narrow inner-shadow path from the larger region that sees a partial eclipse. The word visible therefore needs a qualifier. A city outside totality may still see part of the Sun covered, while a city on Earth's night side cannot see the solar event at all. Build the location test before attaching an exchange name to a map. Record each site's coordinates, its local eclipse type, and whether the Sun is above the horizon during the event. Use a dated path map or local circumstances table. A regional label such as North America is too coarse to establish whether a particular exchange lies in totality. In a hypothetical three-city worksheet, A lies inside totality, B sees only a partial eclipse, and C sees none. The totality filter admits one city; the any-solar-eclipse filter admits two. Those are different samples. Changing the definition after reviewing returns would change the study itself. Geographic visibility describes observers at the site, not every investor who trades the exchange remotely.
Try it
For the supplied A, B, C worksheet, compute the share admitted by totality and by any visible solar eclipse.
Answer
Totality admits 1/3, or 33.3333%. Any visible solar eclipse admits 2/3, or 66.6667%. B changes membership when the rule changes.
Limits
The cities are hypothetical. Visibility does not demonstrate a regional return effect. Actual observation also depends on weather and safe solar-viewing equipment.
