📰 Financial News
- October 28 FOMC statement: The October 28 FOMC decision and October 29 GDP/PCE releases are the last major policy and inflation checkpoints. Next week’s ISM and payroll releases test the rates and dollar response; confirm through price and breadth.
- Equity/rates: S&P cash (latest 2026-10-30 print) 7,580.07 (-1.82%); ES futures (latest 2026-10-30 print) 7,614.00 (-1.81%). The live confirmation gate is first-hour breadth plus 10Y (latest 2026-10-30 print) 4.929% and DXY (latest 2026-10-30 print) 101.964.
- Metals: gold (latest 2026-10-30 print) $3,898.90 (-3.29%) and silver (latest 2026-10-30 print) $49.28 (-5.93%). Tie any breakout/fade to real yields, the dollar, inflation/geopolitics, and silver's industrial-growth confirmation.
- Energy: WTI (latest 2026-10-30 print) $104.12 (+2.08%). Treat OPEC/inventory/geopolitical headlines as context until WTI/Brent range expansion and next-session acceptance confirm.
- SpaceX/SPCX: SPCX (latest 2026-10-30 print) $134.72 (-6.37%) from Nasdaq. Sequential scan found no fresh verified company/regulatory item strong enough to override the stale quote label; use next regular-session trade for confirmation.
- Dividend Leaders (latest 2026-10-30 equity prints): STRC 7.63%, XOM 2.20%, JPM 1.96%, ABBV 2.35%, IBM 2.62%. Screen balances indicated yield, payout durability, liquidity, orderly price action, and macro relevance; selected names remain rate/sector-sensitive, not raw-yield traps. STRC's $7.56 annualized distribution (StockAnalysis) makes the income case sensitive to rates and price. No separately verified new company-specific development was established for these names in this scan.
- Crypto: BTC $77,348 (-0.30% 24h), ETH $2,244 (+0.07%), SOL $95.71 (-1.14%). Repair needs spot demand, ETF/liquidity support, and funding discipline.
- AI/risk: NVDA (latest 2026-10-30 print) $204.64 (-4.22%); if AI lifts while equal-weight breadth lags, call it concentration, not broad risk-on.
- Sequential headline scan buckets: Fed officials are already saying they’ll need to get back to hiking rates; 10-Year Treasury Yield Falls to 4.98%, Breaking Back Below 5%; Equities and bond yields dip with AI jitters and economic data in focus. These are catalyst buckets only; price, yields, oil, breadth, and funding decide whether they matter.
📐 Gann Seasonal Dates
No exact active Gann seasonal date today; next future checkpoint: Nov 7-8 mid-season on 2026-11-07 (7 days away).
Dates checked: cardinal and mid-season checkpoints. No date gets promoted without price confirmation.
🪐 Planetary Aspects
| Timing window | Exact/nearest UTC | Orb | Score | Inspection window |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No qualifying forward hard aspect/station turn | No qualifying exact hit in forward scan | N/A | N/A | 2026-10-31–2026-11-14 |
Use this as a timing lens and review queue only; price action has the final vote.
- Tight hard-aspect scan: Mercury square Mars (orb 1.1°, separating)
- Secondary timing links: Neptune sextile Pluto (orb 1.0°, separating); Mercury square Mars (orb 1.1°, separating); Uranus trine Pluto (orb 1.6°, applying). Treat these as inspection windows, not certainty claims.
- Retrograde check: Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. Read retrogrades as review/back-test cycles for existing stories, not automatic reversal calls.
Use aspects as timing lenses, not certainty claims. Price/liquidity decide.
🌙 Moon Phase
Last Quarter Moon in Cancer (20.0°), about 65.5% illuminated. Event taxonomy: no solar/lunar eclipse is exact today in the computed phase scan.
Pop-astro version: The mood wants clean proof after the headline burst: less story-chasing, more follow-through.
Market version: Use the Moon line as an execution audit: first reactions need VWAP/opening-range/funding confirmation before they become structure.
🧠 Gann Lesson
The same abnormal return can mean different noise levels.
MacKinlay describes standardizing an abnormal return by an estimate of its own standard deviation. First compute the observed return minus the declared normal-return model's estimate. Then divide that difference by a noise estimate obtained from a separate pre-event sample. This gives a dimensionless measure: how large is the gap relative to the volatility normally left unexplained by that model? The method does not change a return's dollar profit or loss. It changes the scale on which observations from different securities can be compared. For an editorial two-proxy example, suppose both assets show a +2-percentage-point abnormal return on a predeclared seasonal inspection day. One model's pre-event residual standard deviation is 1 percentage point; the other's is 4. The standardized observations are 2 and 0.5 units, respectively. Their raw excess returns match, but the first is further from its own baseline. Freeze each normal model, sampling interval, volatility-estimation window, and date before looking at the event. Keep the raw return alongside its standardized reading; otherwise a quiet but economically tiny move may look more important than a larger dollar move. This calculation is a measurement comparison, not a test statistic that proves a Gann date matters.
Try it
In a hypothetical event-day comparison, two assets each have a +2-percentage-point abnormal return. Their separate pre-event residual standard deviations are 1 and 4 percentage points. Standardize both observations. Which is larger in baseline-noise units?
Answer
Asset one: 2/1 = 2 standard-deviation units. Asset two: 2/4 = 0.5 units. The first is larger relative to its own estimated residual noise, although both have the same raw +2-point abnormal return.
Limits
A standard deviation estimated from very few or changing observations can mislead. Correlated assets and overlapping event days require inference methods beyond these two ratios. MacKinlay discusses equity-event methodology, not a demonstrated Gann or cryptocurrency effect. A standardized observation alone supplies no p-value or trading edge.

🔮 Astrology Lesson
A comet has two projected tail directions, not one zodiac point.
JPL Horizons observer-table quantity 27 prints two position angles for a small body, measured counter-clockwise in the observer's sky plane from the reference-frame north pole. PsAng follows the extended Sun-to-target radius vector and is an indicator of a comet's anti-solar gas-tail orientation. PsAMV follows the negative heliocentric velocity vector and indicates the dust-tail direction. These are projected directions as viewed from the stated observer, not two competing zodiac longitudes. The distinction matters because a single sign label conceals which line in the sky a reader means. Consider a synthetic observation with PsAng at 60 degrees and PsAMV at 150 degrees. The shortest angular separation is 90 degrees. One marker points east of north, the other east of south; treating either as 'the comet's direction' loses the vector definition. To reproduce an observation, keep the object identifier, observer center, UTC epoch, coordinate frame, and both labeled fields together. When comparing it with a market chart, place the observation timestamp next to the price at that timestamp instead of sliding the date to a nearby move. Ancient omen language is not a measurement protocol: a sky-plane indicator tells you how to draw a line, not how a security should trade.
Try it
In a synthetic Horizons observer row, PsAng is 60 degrees and PsAMV is 150 degrees. Which indicator corresponds to the anti-solar gas-tail direction, which to the negative-velocity dust-tail direction, and what is their shortest angular separation?
Answer
PsAng is the anti-solar gas-tail indicator; PsAMV is the negative-velocity dust-tail indicator. The shortest separation is |150 - 60| = 90 degrees.
Limits
The manual calls these orientation indicators, not observed tail shapes or economic causes. Both angles depend on the observer, frame, and time. A comet may not present visible gas or dust tails, and neither field supports a market-direction claim.
